WOMEN HEALTH

Postpartum Care

One-third of women are giving birth by Cesarean Section (C-section).  Most of these women don’t realize that after the incision has healed, problems can, and often do, occur from the surgery:

  • Scar tissue

  • Adhesions

  • Diaphragm restrictions

Scar tissue & adhesions - can be close to the incision point or in completely different parts of the body that seem unrelated, yet are very much related.  If not treated, C-section scar tissue can spread creating adhesions.

Diaphragm restrictions – diaphragm inhibition can cause abnormal breathing pattern, low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, neuromuscular dysfunction, loss of motor control of muscles in any body part, incontinence, bowel problems (such as constipation and IBS), and pelvic organ prolapse.

The source of these symptoms is that the integrity and strength of the core has been cut and sutured together, making it weaker.

The core is comprised of more than just abdominal muscles.  The spine, pelvic floor, and diaphragm (a major breathing muscle) are also part of the core system of the body.  Each part is needed to work well so that the body can be stable and move freely and correctly without compensations and pain.  When the core is stable, then the extremities (arms, legs, head, and neck) can move well and be healthy.

After an incision is closed, women need to restore her core function and stability, release scar tissue and adhesions, and reconnect her nervous system’s motor control center in her brain to tell muscles how to work properly again, without compensations and pain.

Therapy is based on manual therapy and muscles strengthening.

DNS is highly effective therapy that restores stability, strength, posture and breathing while retraining muscles how to co-activate well and eliminating pain.

Mojzisova’s Method

Treatment for dysfunctions in the small pelvic area:

  • Obstruction of the fallopian tubes

  • Spasms of the cervix uteri (painful menstruation)

  • Spasms of the uterine body “irritable womb”

  • Spasms of the vagina, dyspareunia (pain during sexual intercourse)

This therapy is based on a principle that there are reflexive relations between the spinal column and inner organs. If a dysfunction of a spinal column occurs, a dysfunction of corresponding inner organ also occurs and vice versa.

Long-term and excessive irritation of the nerve fibers causes an excessive increase in spasms in the muscles around the vertebrae and the muscles of the pelvic floor.

The treatment is based on long-term special exercises, which is focused on a correction of the imbalanced muscles tension in the region of the pelvis with a combination of mobilization techniques.
